Hagerstown, Md. Coming into night four of Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speedweek as the point leader, Alan Krimes from Denver, Pa. made the best of his night at Hagerstown Speedway as he picked up his first ever Hagerstown win plus became the fourth different winner in the series. It also was his first win of the 2010 season in more than 25 races.Posted by Administrator
Im really starting to like this place, Krimes said. I wish we could race here more often. It definitely was the key starting up front like that. You cant beat this place. Its the best track weve raced on. It was a little dry tonight but thats the way I like it.
Krimes pulled the pole position and took off on the start to dominate the first half of the 30 lap event with Greg Hodnett only close enough to challenge once on lap 20 when Krimes changed lines and pulled away. He took the checkered with three lapped cars and 1.16 seconds ahead of Hodnett.
When I heard Greg on the outside of me, I thought there must be something up there to run outside, so I moved up to take his line away, Krimes said. Once I got to lapped cars I moved back down to the bottom. Luckily everything worked out.
When the green flag waved, Krimes was like a rocket ship as he blasted out of the starting gate and was 2.5 seconds ahead of Daryn Pittman by the second lap with Hodnett running third.
